Yesterday, I attended a meeting with DHL Trainees, in the DHL Office at Park View Square.
It was a meeting with not bad of an attendance, the trainees including Anne, Robert, Attila, Sumesh, Ron, Jacey, Luis Rene, Pedro O, and from the AIESEC Membership side, myself, Phoebe, Dei, Alvin, Hefang.
It was a fruitful meeting overall, discussing challenges in positioning Exchange to students.
More than that I finally met the FAMOUS Robert that I've been hearing so much about(haha), and it is always good to meet great people like Pedro, Attila, Anne, anytime. Such amazing and experienced people.
I had a good dinner afterwards, Dei and I spending time with Robert and Anne talking over things. Sometimes they make things sound SO easy... haha. :)
But definitely, all their advice helped! Will look into what I can do to implement the scorecard better in the LC... to drive LC activities... to better involve the trainees in meaningful work with us.
Met Dave after that at City Hall, he was having a drink with his Canadian friend Hoanh, who's an ex-AIESECer from Canada, working in PWC now. Interesting guy, met him before but didn't talk much before that.
Cheers

Yesterday Damy(MCVPER Indonesia), Adam and I visited the World Press Photo 2006 exhibition at the National Library.
Pictures of earthquake victims in Pakistan, without shelter, blankets, food, crossing precarious bridges that are tilted 90 degrees, a Palestinian child covered in his parents' blood, moments after them being killed by American soldiers, a Bangladeshi child being beaten by a big wooden block by an adult in a sweatshop for working too slowly, people in the aftermath of the London bombings, one still holding his daily paper stained with blood, people being slavedriven in a diamond mind, a lone Nigerian man on the street, holding a chain which holds a hyena, toughened by years on the street.
Thought-provoking, sober, grim, sad... these were the words and descriptions going through my mind. It really pains me to see such suffering, it pains me, makes me angry to see children hurt or being abused. It shames me to see my lust for the material things which other people are suffering to produce.
Luxury, modernity, at what cost? Our humanity?
It's easy for us to look at these things as if we were from the outside, as if we are detached from these events. In a way we are. But all the same, these things are happening, every single day... all around the world... have we asked in what way we can live our daily lives and in some small way contribute to making these horrible events a thing of the past?
I believe it is really time to put more thought into our actions, our daily lives. More balance to our goals and our endeavours. More heart into things. I sincerely, truly, hope I can stick to these things as I go through life and love. Hopefully make the world a little better than when I first found it.

Ok guys, I've finally figured out how to use this thing, so here I am!!!
So..... what do I say.....
I think life's good! It's always good, you just have to look for the goodness to take out of it.
More updates soon, there's just so much happening now, and I'm trying to salvage my school semester as well.
Besides that, for all AIESECers out there, go here --> www.eternallovenus.com and look for my declaration of love to all of you.
See yas!
